The study compared the effects of low intensity resistance training with blood flow restriction (BFR) with different occlusion pressure on lower limb muscle and cardiopulmonary function. Twenty-seven college students were randomly divided into three groups by different occlusion pressure: 0 mmHg (group C), 120 mmHg (group L) and 180 mmHg (group H). Before and after training (3 times a week for 12 weeks) with an inflatable cuff (20% 1RM, half squat), the muscle thickness(MTH)of rectus femoris and medius femoris, relative peak knee extensor moment(rM), peak power(P), relative maximal oxygen uptake(rVOmax), stroke volume(SV), cardiac output(CO), ejection fraction(EF) and other indicators were measured for all subjects. When compared with pre-training, and rectus femoris, the MTH of medius femoris, rM, rVOmax, SV, CO and EF were significantly increased in group L and group H after 12 weeks training(<0.05, <0.01), as well as compared with group C after training(<0.05, <0.01). There was no significant difference between group L and group H after training. BFR training protocols under 120 mmHg or 180 mmHg pressure were effective in improving muscle and cardiopulmonary function.

This study investigates the effectiveness of blood flow restriction (BFR) training in maintaining athletic performance during a taper phase in basketball players. The taper phase aims to reduce external load while maintaining training intensity. Seventeen experienced basketball players were randomised into two groups: a placebo group ( = 8, 22.

Neovascular glaucoma is a rare and serious condition typically associated with advanced ocular or systemic vascular diseases such as central retinal vein occlusion or diabetic retinopathy. This report describes a unique case of neovascular glaucoma presenting for the first time as an initial symptom of bilateral occlusive retinal vasculitis (ORV) in a generally healthy 4-year-old girl. The patient presented with symptoms of pain and redness in the left eye, accompanied by high intraocular pressure.

Objective: To measure and analyze the occlusal force and contact in children with mixed dentition, and to preliminarily provide baseline data on the occlusion of individual normal occlusion children with mixed dentition.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, including 20 children with mixed dentition and individual normal occlusion, consisting of 12 boys and 8 girls, aged 6.5-9.

Shunt dependence syndrome is a serious long-term complication characterized by symptoms and signs of increased intracranial pressure with normal-sized lateral ventricles after several years of arachnoid cyst-peritoneal shunting. It is easy to misdiagnose and overlook when combined with sinus stenosis, thus delaying treatment. Here, we present a 35-year-old man with an unexplained headache and binocular horizontal diplopia with high intracranial pressure.
