We investigated the influence of a copper loading strategy over a honeycomb structure on the catalytic performance during the decomposition of a hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN) aqueous solution. Copper was supported on the honeycomb surface by means of a metal coating method (MC), i.e., a method of directly coating a metal, and a metal alumina coating method (MAC), i.e., a method of coating a mixture of metal and alumina. The properties of the catalysts were analyzed by N₂ adsorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Cu(16.8)/honeycomb-MC catalyst showed a lower decomposition onset temperature during the decomposition of the HAN aqueous solution compared to that over the Cu(7.0)/honeycomb- MAC catalyst, an outcome ascribed to the higher copper loading and the higher dispersion of copper in the Cu(16.8)/honeycomb-MC catalyst compared to that in the other catalyst. The Cu(16.8)/honeycomb-MC catalyst was confirmed to have both excellent activity and heat resistance during the decomposition of a HAN aqueous solution.

Despite the growing interest in mirror-image l-oligonucleotides, both as a robust nucleic acid analogue and as an artificial genetic polymer, their broader adoption in biochemical research and medicine remains hindered by challenges associated with the synthesis of long sequences, especially for l-RNA. Herein, we present a novel strategy for assembling long l-RNAs the joining of two or more shorter fragments using cross-chiral ligase ribozymes together with new substrate activation chemistry. We show that 5'-monophosphorylated l-RNA, which is readily prepared by solid-phase synthesis, can be activated by chemical attachment of a 5'-adenosine monophosphate (AMP) or diphosphate (ADP), yielding 5'-adenosyl(di- or tri-)phosphate l-RNA.

17α-methyltestosterone (17α-MT) is prevalent in the aqueous environment, but its toxicological profile remains incomplete. This study analyzed the effects of different 17α-MT concentrations on the growth performance, mortality, sex ratio, liver physiological metabolism, and intestinal microorganisms of Takifugu fasciatus, and on the microorganisms composition of its culture environment. Results showed that 17α-MT increased the male ratio and mortality but inhibited the growth of T.

Purpose: To investigate the aqueous proteomics and metabolomics in low-energy and high-energy femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS).
Methods: In this prospective observational study, 72 patients were randomized to 3 groups: low-energy FLACS, high-energy FLACS, and conventional phacoemulsification (controls). Aqueous was collected after femtosecond laser treatment or at the beginning of surgery (controls).

Structural indicators, also known as structural descriptors, including order parameters, have been proposed to quantify the structural properties of water to account for its anomalous behaviors. However, these indicators, mainly designed for bulk water, are not naturally transferrable to the vicinity of ions due to disruptions in the immediate neighboring space and a resulting loss of feature completeness. To address these non-bulk defects, we introduced a structural indicator that draws on the concept of clique number from graph theory and the criterion in agglomerative clustering, denoted as the average cluster number.

The efficient removal of organic contaminants from high-salinity wastewater is crucial for resource recovery and achieving zero discharge. Nanofiltration (NF) membranes are effective in separating organic compounds and monovalent salts, but they typically exhibit an excessive rejection of divalent salts. Modifying the charge characteristics of NF membranes can improve salt permeation; however, the role of charge spatial distribution in governing salt transport behavior is not fully understood.
