Reported cases of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome in children suggest common psychosocial features for child and family. The possibility is explored that these same features are also present in a subgroup of children with documented, but very mild, illness. Suggestions for the diagnosis and management of this problem are offered, emphasizing a multidisciplinary team approach.
