A novel Gram-stain-negative bacterium, designated strain GY 70310, was isolated from the intestinal tract of Konosirus punctatus collected from Minjiang River, China. Cells of the strain were rod-shaped and motile with a single polar flagellum. The result of 16S rRNA gene sequence analyses showed that strain GY 70310 was moderately related to Crenobacter luteus YIM 78141 (94.7%), Paludibacterium paludis KBP-21 (93.8%) and Crenobacter cavernae K1W11S-77 (93.0%). The draft genome of strain GY 70310 consisted of 3.4 Mbp with DNA G+C content of 66.3 mol%, which possessed genes putatively encoding nitrate reductase, nitrite oxidoreductase and urease. The novel strain showed a whole genome average nucleotide identity (OrthoANI) value of 77.1% and a digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) value of 22.4% with Crenobacter luteus DSM 27258, followed by Crenobacter cavernae K1W11S-77 with OrthoANI and dDDH values of 76.4% and 20.6%, respectively. The major fatty acids (>10%) were identified as summed feature 3 (Cω6c and/or iso-C 2-OH, Cω7c), C and Cω7c. The major respiratory quinone was ubiquinone-8 (Q-8). The polar lipids comprised diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, one unidentified aminophospholipid, one unidentified lipid and one unidentified phospholipid. On the basis of phylogenetic analyses, genotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, strain GY 70310 represents a novel species of the genus Crenobacter, for which the name Crenobacter intestini sp. nov., is proposed. The type strain is GY 70310 (= CGMCC 1.16821 = KCTC 62945 = NBRC 113900).

Alkaliphilic cyanobacteria are suitable candidates to study the effect of alkaline wastewater cultivation on molecular metabolic responses. In the present study, the impact of wastewater, alkalinity, and alkaline wastewater cultivation was studied on the biomass production, biochemical composition, and the alkalinity responsive molecular mechanism through metabolomics. The results suggested a 1.

The influence of carbon multi-walled nanotubes (MWCNTs) and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) on the physical, thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) copolymer was investigated. EVA-based nanocomposites containing MWCNTs or HNTs, as well as hybrid nanocomposites containing both nanofillers were prepared by melt blending. Scanning electron microcopy (SEM) images revealed the presence of good dispersion of both kinds of nanotubes throughout the EVA matrix.

Mesoscale Simulation to Study Constitutive Properties of TATB/F PBX.

Materials (Basel)

November 2019

Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences, Nicholls State University, P.O. Box 2022, Thibodaux, LA 70310, USA.

Material Point Method (MPM) mesoscale simulation was used to study the constitutive relation of a polymer bonded explosive (PBX) consisting of 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) and a fluorine polymer binder F. The stress-strain variations of the PBX were calculated for different temperatures and different porosities, and the results were found to be consistent with experimental observations. The stress-strain relations at different temperatures were used to develop the constitutive equation of the PBX by using numerical data fitting.
