The use of eponyms adds a valuable historical context to the art of medicine, and shall hence be encouraged, nevertheless their use must always reflect an appropriate historical and medical terminology. A bizarre narration concerns the widespread term "St. Anthony's fire", which has been used for denoting not less than three distinct diseases. In this article we underscore that at least three distinct diseases, one toxic (i.e., ergotism) and two infectious (i.e., erysipelas and herpes zoster) have been called, in different times and countries, with the same eponym term of "St. Anthony's fire", whilst some other diseases may have also been comprised under this "umbrella" definition. It is possible, for example, that even some cases of plague may have been misclassified as "St. Anthony's fire". This article also deals with the importance of this topic in the history of art. Several important artists in different periods, in particular painters, were inspired from the history of St. Anthony, who is generally represented in association with fire (representing the burning pain of the diseases), pig (symbolizing the fat of pigs used in the past for relieving skin symptoms), and different "temptations" (devils, food, gold, jewelry, etc.). A literary masterwork is also cited and discussed.

Combination therapies using checkpoint inhibitors with immunostimulatory agonists have attracted great attention due to their synergistic therapeutic effects for cancer treatment. However, such combination immunotherapies require specific timing of doses to show sufficient antitumor efficacy. The distribution of substitutional aluminum (Al) atoms in zeolites affects molecular adsorbate geometry, catalytic activity, and shape and size selectivity. Accurately determining Al positions has been challenging. We used synchrotron resonant soft x-ray diffraction (RSXRD) at multiple energies near the Al K-edge combined with molecular adsorption techniques to precisely locate "single Al" and "Al pairs" in a commercial H-ZSM-5 zeolite.

The promise of contributory health insurance to generate additional, self-sustaining funding for the health sector has not been achieved in many low- and lower-middle-income countries. Instead, contributory health insurance has been found to exacerbate inequities in access to health care because entitlements are linked to contributions. For these countries with contributory health insurance schemes, with separate institutional arrangements for revenue collection and purchasing, that operate alongside budget-funded and other health financing schemes, it is usually not politically or technically feasible to reverse or eliminate these arrangements even when they fragment the health system.

Objective: This study aims to explore the role of exosome-related genes in breast cancer (BRCA) metastasis by integrating RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data from BRCA samples and to develop a reliable prognostic model.
Methods: Initially, a comprehensive analysis was conducted on exosome-related genes from the BRCA cohort in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Three prognostic genes (JUP, CAPZA1 and ARVCF) were identified through univariate Cox regression and Lasso-Cox regression analyses, and a metastasis-related risk score model was established based on these genes.
