Background: The atrial switch procedure is accompanied by a very high rate of sinus node dysfunction. Baffle stenosis is a common problem with transvenous pacemaker leads in this scenario.
Case Summary: We present a first-in-human case of a leadless pacer (LP) in the left atrium in a patient with prior atrial switch for transposition and sinus node dysfunction complicated by multiple abandoned leads, superior baffle occlusion, and failed extraction.

Objectives: To evaluate blood pressure control during the immediate postpartum period in hypertensive women who had used methyldopa during pregnancy, comparing continuation of that drug with switching it for captopril.
Study Design: A single-blind, randomized clinical trial involving 172 postpartum women with hypertension who had previously used methyldopa during pregnancy at a minimum dose of 750 mg/day for at least one week prior to delivery. The subtypes of hypertension included were gestational hypertension, chronic hypertension, preeclampsia, superimposed preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome and eclampsia.
Introduction: Metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) is increasingly used for obesity and metabolic disease, with safety profiles showing it is among the safest major operations. The last 20 + years have noted significantly improved safety that has been accompanied by decreasing length of stay and select populations electing for outpatient surgery, leading to continued decreases in cost. Regardless, readmissions and complications still occur, requiring inpatient postoperative care (IP-POC).

The course of the disease was complicated by a сatheter-associated bloodstream infection. According to the histological examination of kidney biopsy samples, granulomatous interstitial nephritis was diagnosed.

Fear is a fundamental emotion that triggers rapid and automatic behavioral response. Fear is known to suppress reward-seeking behaviors, interrupt previous activities to prioritize defensive responses and lead to rapid switch to defensive reactions. Dopamine (DA) plays a complicated role in the choice and performance of actions and it has a potential interaction of innate actions with the presence of fear.
