This study compared the incidence of tendon subluxation in patients of a single surgeon undergoing Dequervain's release with and without retinacular repair. The study reviewed 31 patients that underwent standard Dequervain's release without retinacular repair and 49 that underwent Dequervain's release with retinacular repair. Each subject's functional status was assessed using the Patient-Rated Wrist/Hand Evaluation. Subjects were compared against age, gender, handedness, tendon subluxation, return to work duration, and surgical laterality. Tendon subluxation is an infrequent complication affecting patients undergoing Dequervain's release. This complication has a higher incidence in younger females and demonstrates no predilection for hand dominance. The efficacy of retinacular repair is suggested by good Patient-Rated Wrist/Hand Evaluation outcome scores and should be considered as an adjunct to prevent tendon subluxation. This is a level 4 study.

This study aims to analyze the impact of muscle transfer on the glenohumeral joint in children with obstetric brachial plexus palsy (OBPP) using MRI by comparing preoperative and 5-year follow-up postoperative imaging findings to determine whether tendon transfers affect the alignment and configuration of the glenohumeral joint. Ten children with obstetric brachial plexus palsy (OBPP) participated in our prospective observational study, and we performed a tendon transfer technique. Every patient had an MRI of both shoulders done at preoperative and at the 5-year mark following the procedure.

Irreducible ankle fracture-dislocations due to posterior tibialis tendon (PTT) interposition in the distal tibiofibular and tibiotalar joints are rarely reported, and their diagnoses are often missed and delayed. In addition, previous reports lacked a longer clinical follow-up period, and objective and subjective evaluations of such cases have not been reported. A 22-year-old man sustained an open fracture-dislocation of the ankle joint associated with a distal third of the fibular shaft fracture and diastasis of the distal tibiofibular joint.

The study cohort includes 53 patients, who underwent surgery for acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation Rockwood type 3, 4 and 5. Patient-reported outcome scores and clinical results, including Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH), the Subjective Shoulder Value (SSV), the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and the Constant score (CS) results as well as loss of reduction rates on plain radiographs were compared.

Introduction The aim of this article is to evaluate the clinical and functional outcomes of subpectoral tenodesis of the long head of the biceps (LHB) in the treatment of proximal biceps pathologies. Methods A retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted through the analysis of medical records from 24 patients and 26 shoulders who underwent the subpectoral tenodesis technique using bone tunnels. Three patients were excluded due to insufficient data to calculate the functional scores.

Background: The underlying shoulder pathology in radiographic superior escape of the humeral head and association between acromiohumeral interval (AHI) on radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are poorly understood.
Methods: A retrospective review of shoulder radiographs and MRI scans was undertaken. AHI was measured using both modalities.
