The etiology of classical trigeminal neuralgia (CTN) is still unclear. A better understanding of the cerebral structural and functional changes in female patients with CTN may provide important novel insights into the pathophysiologic mechanisms of female CTN. A total 37 female CTN patients were included and referred to MRI scans, comprising with 19 left CTN and 18 right CTN patients.

Introduction: Multimodal intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM) is essential in scoliosis surgery. This is affected by misplaced instrumentation, cord trauma, hemodynamic instability, and anesthesia. We present an irreversible loss of IOM without identifiable intra-operative cause to highlight its occurrence and discuss post-operative investigations and management.

Postictal generalized electroencephalographic suppression is a possible electroencephalographic marker for sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. We aimed to investigate the cortical surface area abnormalities in epilepsy patients with postictal generalized electroencephalographic suppression. We retrospectively included 30 epilepsy patients with postictal generalized electroencephalographic suppression (PGES+), 21 epilepsy patients without postictal generalized electroencephalographic suppression (PGES-), and 30 healthy controls.

Introduction: Stroke has been considered to raise the risk of dementia in several studies, but the relationship between brain structural changes and poststroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is unclear.
Methods: In this study, 23 PSCI patients with basal ganglia infarcts after 2 weeks and 29 age-matched controls underwent magnetic resonance imaging measuring cortical thickness and volume changes, as well as neuropsychological tests. CI was derived from a performance score <1.
