Following the publication of the above paper, an interested reader drew to our attention that a number of apparent anomalies existed with the data presented in the above paper; specifically, there appeared to be strikingly similar and replicated patternings of the cells within the cellular images featured in Figs. 4A‑D and 5A‑D (affecting all the figure parts). Secondly, Fig. 4 in the above study appeared to have been a reproduction of Fig. 3 from following paper featuring different authors, albeit Fig. 4 appeared in greyscale, and not in colour, in the above paper [Wan G, Tao J‑G, Wang G‑D, Liu. S‑P, Zhao H‑X and Liang Q‑D: antitumor activity of the ethyl acetate extract of in osteosarcoma cancer cells. Mol Med Rep 14: 3634‑3640, 2016]. Following an internal enquiry, the Editor of was able to verify the claims made by the interested reader; therefore, in view of the number of potential anomalies that have been identified and owing to a lack of overall confidence in the presented data, the Editorial Board have decided to retract the above paper from the publication. The Journal were also contacted independently by the authors, who wished to retract the paper on account of not being able to reproduce the results shown in Fig.. 2. The Editor apologizes to the readership of the Journal for any inconvenience caused. [the original article was published in Oncology Reports 35: 2328‑2338, 2016; DOI: 10.3892/or.2016.4610].

Previous research conducted in English indicates that the visual appearances of different typefaces are perceived as possessing distinct characteristics, what we call "print personality" (e.g., masculine, feminine, serious, fun) to the extent that the typeface used conveys information to the reader beyond that which is expressed linguistically by the word.

Dental pulp regeneration is significantly aided by human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs). An increasing number of studies have demonstrated that circular RNAs (circRNAs) are crucial in the multidirectional differentiation of many mesenchymal stem cells, but their specific functions and mechanisms remain unknown. This work aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanism by which hsa_circ_0001599 works in hDPSCs during odontogenic differentiation.

The Role of SIRT1-BDNF Signaling Pathway in Fluoride-Induced Toxicity for Glial BV-2 Cells.

Biol Trace Elem Res

January 2025

Department of Hematology, Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, No. 4 Bei Jing Road, Yunyan District, Guiyang, 550004, Guizhou Province, China.

Chronic fluorosis is often accompanied by neurological symptoms, leading to attention, memory and learning ability decline and causing tension, anxiety, depression, and other mental symptoms. In the present study, we analyzed the molecular mechanisms of SIRT1-BDNF regulation of PI3K-AKT, MAPK, and FOXO1A in F-treated BV2 cells. The cytotoxic effect of sodium fluoride (NaF) on BV2 cells was assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), crystal violet, and 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining.

Histone acetylation is the process by which histone acetyltransferases (HATs) add an acetyl group to the N-terminal lysine residues of histones, resulting in a more open chromatin structure. Histone acetylation tends to increase gene expression more than methylation does. In the central nervous system (CNS), histone acetylation is essential for controlling the expression of genes linked to cognition and learning.

We introduce a sentence corpus with eye-movement data in traditional Chinese (TC), based on the original Beijing Sentence Corpus (BSC) in simplified Chinese (SC). The most noticeable difference between TC and SC character sets is their visual complexity. There are reaction time corpora in isolated TC character/word lexical decision and naming tasks.
