An apparent outbreak of fenugreek forage toxicosis occurred in a beef cattle herd near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in February-May 2022. The herd had consumed fenugreek hay from late fall to early winter. Clinical signs included various degrees of weakness, ataxia, knuckling, walking on hocks, and recumbency.

This review summarizes recent case reports where the consumption of dietary supplements by older adults may have caused an adverse event. In December 2023, PubMed was surveyed for case reports published from 2000 onwards, using two medical subject heading (MeSH) terms, "aged" and "dietary supplements," where the latter was combined with the MeSH subheadings "adverse effects," "poisoning," or "toxicity." To investigate the changes of metabolites in urine of automobile manufacturing workers with muscle fatigue using metabolomics technology, and to explore potential biomarkers and disrupted metabolic pathways. In July 2022, urine samples were collected from 35 male workers in a certain automobile manufacturing industry before and after muscle fatigue, and metabolite analysis was conducted. Subsequently, multivariate statistical analysis was used for data processing to screen differential metabolites.

To assess the ameliorative effects of wireweed leaf supplement (WLS) and ascorbate on reproductive potentials and gonadal oxidative status of cocks fed aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) contaminated diets, a total of 250 sexually mature cocks were distributed into five treatment groups: 1 (Control/Basal diet), 2 (Basal + 1 mg/kg AFB1), 3 (Basal + 1 mg/kg AFB1 + 200 mg/kg Ascorbate), 4 (Basal + 1 mg/kg AFB1 + 2.50 g/kg WLS) and 5 (Basal + 1 mg/kg AFB1 + 5.00 g/kg WLS).

E-cigarette/vaping-associated lung injury (EVALI) is strongly associated with vitamin E acetate and often occurs with concomitant tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) use. To uncover pathways associated with EVALI, we examined cytokines, transcriptomic signatures, and lipidomic profiles in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) from THC-EVALI patients. At a single center, we prospectively enrolled mechanically ventilated patients with EVALI from THC-containing products (N = 4) and patients with non-vaping acute lung injury and airway controls (N = 5).
