To find a distinct non-coding RNA characteristic for idiopathic uveitis in the pediatric population. To explore the autoimmune-related miRNA expression profile in pediatric patients with idiopathic uveitis (IU) and juvenile idiopathic arthritis-associated uveitis (JIA-AU) and find a common molecular background for idiopathic uveitis and other autoimmune diseases. The expression levels of miRNAs were analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR using serum samples from patients with idiopathic uveitis (n = 8), juvenile idiopathic arthritis-associated uveitis (n = 7), and healthy controls.

Background: Sepsis can lead to myocardial depression, playing a significant role in sepsis pathophysiology, clinical care, and outcome. To gain more insight into the pathophysiology of the myocardial response in sepsis, we investigated the expression of microRNA in myocardial autopsy specimens in critically ill deceased with sepsis and non-septic controls.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective observational study, we obtained myocardial tissue samples collected during autopsy from adult patients deceased with sepsis (n = 15) for routine histological examination.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are critical post-transcriptional gene regulators and their involvement in sporadic colon cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis has been confirmed. In this study we investigated differences in miRNA expression in microsatellite stable (MSS/EMAST-S), microsatellite unstable marked by high elevated microsatellite alterations at selected tetranucleotide repeats (MSS/EMAST-H), and high microsatellite unstable (MSI-H/EMAST-H) tumor subgroups as well as in tumors with different clinicopathologic characteristics. An RT-qPCR analysis of miRNA expression was carried out on 45 colon cancer and adjacent normal tissue samples (15 of each group).
