Purpose: The publicly available Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) Resident Curriculum provides resources for blended learning. This report presents a formal evaluation of this blended learning curriculum.

Methods: We adapted the SAHM curriculum for a required four-week rotation for pediatricians in training. We selected webinars, videos, articles, and Web sites from the SAHM curriculum to complement the local clinical context. We evaluated the effectiveness of our curriculum using resident pre- and post-self-assessments, weekly knowledge quizzes, and a standardized patient encounter.

Results: Resident self-assessment improved in all domains except managing urologic conditions. Residents scored 85% or higher on knowledge quizzes. Standardized patients rated residents a mean of 90.2 out of 100 on adolescent communication and 89.0 out of 100 on parent communication.

Conclusions: A blended learning curriculum consisting of SAHM online materials and local clinical experiences improved resident self-assessment, knowledge, and communication skills.

Background: The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) for 2030 aims at <70 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. South Africa (SA) falls short of this goal and most deaths occur in district and regional hospitals. Due to low anesthesiologist (specialist anesthetist) numbers in the public sector, the anesthetic workforce in these hospitals consists mainly of nonspecialist (general practitioner) junior doctors with limited supervision.

Background: The quality of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillations (AED) treatment provided by individual practitioners is the most important factor in surviving an in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA); therefore, healthcare professionals (HCPs) require sufficient resuscitation competency. This study aimed to analyze the effects of a blended team-based CPR and AED simulation training (riAniMO program) on HCPs performance, satisfaction and perception on transferability, and costs.

Methods: The riAniMO is based on a multimedia training program with video lessons and a virtual CPR resuscitation simulation, and a team-based CPR and AED simulation.

Background: Due to the complex and abstract anatomy of the nervous system, neurology has become a difficult subject for students of clinical disciplines. It is imperative to develop new teaching methods to improve students' enthusiasm for learning this course. Small private online courses (SPOC) combined with problem based learning (PBL) blended teaching models based on massive open online course (MOOC) provides a new direction for future neurology teaching reform.

Biodiesel offers an alternative to fossil fuels, primarily because it is derived from renewable sources, with the potential to mitigate issues such as pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions, resource scarcity, and the market instability of petroleum derivatives. However, lower durability and stability pose challenges. To address this, researchers worldwide are exploring technologies that employ specific molecules to slow down biodiesel's oxidation process, thereby preserving its key physicochemical properties.
