. The measurement of skin temperature using infrared thermography has gained a lot of attention in sport and science since it might be related to the recovery process following high intensity, potentially damaging exercise. This study investigated the time course of the skin temperature response and the muscle recovery status following a resistance training session involving leg press exercise.. Fourteen young male college students (19.9 ± 1.7 years, 176 ± 6 cm, 66.1 ± 7.6 kg, 21.1 ± 1.8 kg.m) performed one session involving 10 sets, of 10 repetition maximum each (RM), of unilateral leg press 45° exercise, performed to momentary muscle failure, with 2 min rest between sets. Perceived recovery, mean and maximum thigh skin temperatures, thigh muscle thickness, maximal isometric strength, muscle soreness, and horizontal jump performance were measured pre, 24, 48, and 72 h following exercise.. The exercise protocol resulted in significant reduction in isometric strength, horizontal jump performance, and perceived recovery ( < 0.05). There was also a significant ( < 0.05) increase in muscle thickness and muscle soreness. With exception of jump performance, that recovered at 48 ( > 0.05), recovery parameters did not recover up to 72 h post-exercise ( > 0.05). Surprisingly, skin temperatures were not altered throughout the entire 72 h post-exercise period ( > 0.05). No significant positive correlation was found between skin temperatures and muscle thickness. Additionally, only one out of 16 correlation coefficients showed significant ( = -0.56, = 0.036) inverse association between skin temperature and isometric strength.. In conclusion, thigh skin temperature remains unaffected up to 72 h following a leg press exercise, and the time course response of thigh skin temperature was not associated with recovery status.

Trauma healing is the process of healing after the body has been subjected to an external force and the skin and other tissues have become dissected or defective, showing the synergistic effect of various processes. Therefore, the investigation of innovative wound dressings has significant research and clinical implications. In this study, we constructed a zinc based metal-organic framework (MOF) and loaded with antimicrobial peptide LL37 to prepare LL37@ZPF-2 (ZPF = zeolite pyrimidine backbone), which was subsequently integrated with Poloxamer 407 to fabricate LL37@ZPF-2 thermosensitive hydrogel.

Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) have gained increasing attention due to their robust mechanical properties, favorable biocompatibility, and facile surface modification. However, green and recyclable CNF production remains challenging. Herein, a green, low-cost and room-temperature strategy was developed to exfoliate CNFs using deep eutectic solvents.

Fish gelatin, a sustainable substitute for mammalian gelatin, frequently exhibits weaker gel strength and thermal stability, limiting its industrial uses. This study investigated an in vivo method to improve functional characteristics by supplementing Nile tilapia diets with Aronia extract. The control diet (A0) contained no Aronia extract, while the remaining four diets consisted of commercial pelleted feed enriched with 250 mg/kg (A250), 500 mg/kg (A500), 750 mg/kg (A750), and 1000 mg/kg (A1000) of Aronia extract.

Anthocyanins are responsible for grape ( L.) skin color. To obtain a more detailed understanding of the anthocyanin regulatory networks across' the summer and winter seasons in grapes under a double-cropping viticulture system, the transcriptomes of 'Summer Black' grapes were analyzed using RNA sequencing.
