Background: Obstructive nephropathy is one of the leading causes of kidney injury in infants and children. Increasing evidence has shown that transcription-related factors (TRFs), including transcription factors and cofactors, are associated with kidney diseases. However, a global landscape of dysregulated TRFs in pediatric patients with obstructive nephropathy is lacking.

The PKM2/HIF-1α Axis is Involved in the Pathogenesis of Endometriosis via TGF-β1 under Endometrial Polyps.

Front Biosci (Landmark Ed)

December 2024

Department of Reproductive Medicine, Dongying People's Hospital, 257091 Dongying, Shandong, China.

Background: Endometriosis patients exhibit a cancer-like glycolytic phenotype. The pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2)/hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α) axis plays important roles in glycolysis-related diseases, but its role in patients with endometrial polyps (EPs) combined with endometriosis has not been validated.

Methods: EP samples were collected from patients with and without endometriosis.

Introduction: Very rarely, adult NMDAR antibody-associated encephalitis (NMDAR-E) leads to persistent cerebellar atrophy and ataxia. Transient cerebellar ataxia is common in pediatric NMDAR-E. Immune-mediated cerebellar ataxia may be associated with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG), aquaporin-4 (AQP-4), kelch-like family member 11 (KLHL11), and glutamate kainate receptor subunit 2 (GluK2) antibodies, all of which may co-occur in NMDAR-E.

Y-chromosome short tandem repeats (Y-STRs) loci have significant research and application value in individual identification, parentage testing, kinship determination and genealogical DNA analysis due to their unique genetic characteristics. Currently, various commercial STR typing kits have used in forensic detection, which greatly promoting the scientific application of STR in criminal investigation and judicial trials. However, due to the complexity and specificity of biological samples, the special STR typing in the sample poses certain difficulties for the construction of DNA databases.
