Introduction: Endovascular repair of infra renal aortic aneurysm is becoming the preferable method of intervention compared to open surgery due to the lower early morbidity rates. One of the complications during the procedure is contra-lateral gate (CLG) maldeployment. Learning the endovascular salvage options is necessary to avoid the morbidities of open surgical conversion.

Presentation Of Case: we present a case of maldeployment during an endovascular exclusion of aortic aneurysm in a high cardiac risk patient for whom an endovascular management was successful.

Discussion: We discuss the detailed technical aspect in managing CLG maldeployment in our case as well as variable options from literature.

Conclusion: Despite the available possibility to convert to open, there are multiple endovascular bail out alternatives to manage maldeployment that can be successfully performed by experienced interventionalist.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate whether the hybrid technique yields superior outcomes in comparison with the total arch replacement combined with frozen elephant trunk (TAR + FET) for acute aortic dissection (AAD) involving the aortic arch.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study using propensity-score matching included patients with AAD involving the aortic arch admitted to Nanjing First Hospital and Shanghai General Hospital from January 2015 to June 2020. The in-hospital and mid-term outcomes were compared between patients who received hybrid treatment (n = 136) and those who received TAR + FET (n = 415).

The therapeutic time window for endovascular therapy in acute stroke patients with large-vessel occlusion was extended to 24 hours from onset. Although a retrospective study showed the efficacy of endovascular therapy beyond 24 hours from the last known well, it remains unclear whether endovascular therapy is effective. Extending the time window of Endovascular therapy in the Triage of Late Presenting Strokes beyond 24 h (SKIP-EXTEND trial) aimed to clarify the efficacy of endovascular therapy compared to the best medical management.

Objective: The Achilles' heel of infrainguinal bypass grafts (IIBG) is restenosis. Duplex ultrasound (DUS) surveillance is commonly undertaken to identify restenosis allowing intervention for graft salvage. We report the impact of DUS surveillance on patient outcomes alongside healthcare-associated costs.

Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, Keck School of Medicine of USC, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA.

Background: Penetrating carotid artery injuries (CAI) are rare with high morbidity and mortality. We aimed to perform a systematic review of the published literature to evaluate the workup and management of penetrating CAI.

Methods: Studies of acute management of adult trauma patients with penetrating common or internal carotid artery injuries on MEDLINE or EMBASE from 1946 through July 2024 were included following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement methodology.
