Background: This study investigated the acute effects of inspiratory muscle warm-up (IWU) on vocal performance in singers. Proper vocal and respiratory warm-up can enhance vocal range, quality, and endurance. The aim was to determine whether IWU improves maximum phonation time and pitch range, contributing to better voice production efficiency (vocal efficiency) and reduced fatigue.

The hippocampus, noted as (HC), plays a crucial role in the processes of learning, memory formation, and spatial navigation. Recent research reveals that this brain region can undergo structural and functional changes due to environmental exposures, including stress, noise pollution, sleep deprivation, and microgravity. This review synthesizes findings from animal and human studies, emphasizing the HC's plasticity in response to these factors.

Global declines in wild mussel populations and production have been linked to the impacts of climate change and pollution. Summer die-offs of mussels (Perna canaliculus), spat retention issues, and a severe decline in mussel spat settlement have been reported in the Marlborough Sounds, an important area for mussel farming in New Zealand. Preliminary evidence suggests that naturally occurring contaminants and changing land use in the surrounding areas, could contribute to the decline of this species.

The research explores the relationship between auditory cues and static postural stability in individuals with hearing impairment.
Methods: 34 young adult cochlear implant users, consisting of 15 males and 19 females aged 18-35 years, underwent various balance tests, including the modified Clinical Tests of Sensory Interaction on Balance (mCTSIB) and the Unilateral Stance Test (UST), under different auditory conditions: (1) White noise stimulus present with the sound processor activated, (2) Ambient noise present with the sound processor activated, and (3) Sound processor deactivated.

With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, the impact of noise on people's health has become an increasingly serious issue, but it is still a challenge for the reducing the noise due to its complex property. Textiles with many loose porous structures have gained much significant attentions, thus chenille yarns with plush fibers on the surface, and polyester monofilament were chosen to fabricate the integrated knitting yarns, and their fundamental and mechanical properties were fully evaluated. The results showed that the diameter and braiding angle of the blended yarns decreased with the increase of pitch, resulting in a linear correlation of R > 0.
