The title compounds, 2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1-perimidine (CHN; ), 1-methyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1-perimidine (CHN; ), and 1,3-dimethyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1-perimidinium iodide (CHN ·I; ) were synthesized under mild conditions and their structures were determined by H NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray analysis. The -methyl-ation of the nitro-gen atom() at the perimidine moiety results in a significant increase of the inter-plane angle between the pyridin-2-yl ring and the perimidine system. The unsubstituted perimidine () forms a weak intra-molecular N-H⋯N bond that consolidates the mol-ecular conformation. In the crystal structures of -, the mol-ecular entities all are assembled through π-π and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Introduction: Macrophages exhibit marked phenotypic heterogeneity within and across disease states, with lipid metabolic reprogramming contributing to macrophage activation and heterogeneity. Chronic inflammation has been observed in human benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) tissues, however macrophage activation states and their contributions to this hyperplastic disease have not been defined. We postulated that a shift in macrophage phenotypes with increasing prostate size could involve metabolic alterations resulting in prostatic epithelial or stromal hyperplasia.

Background: Bladder cancer (BCa) is one of the most common malignancies worldwide, and its prognostication and treatment remains challenging. The fast growth of various cancer cells requires reprogramming of its energy metabolism using aerobic glycolysis as a major energy source. However, the prognostic and therapeutic value of glycolysis-related genes in BCa remains to be determined.

Background: Corilagin is widely distributed in various medicinal plants. In recent years, numerous pharmacological activities of Corilagin have been reported, including anti-inflammatory, antiviral, hepatoprotective, anti-tumor, and anti-fibrosis effects. However, there is still a need for systematic metabolomics analysis to further elucidate its mechanisms of action.

Background And Objective: Lyme disease, caused by , presents major health challenges worldwide, leading to serious neurological and musculoskeletal issues that impact patients' lives and healthcare systems. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to determine the prevalence and link between Lyme disease and these complications, aiming to enhance clinical and public health approaches.

Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science up until April 01, 2024, to find studies reporting the prevalence and severity of neurological and musculoskeletal complications associated with Lyme disease.
