Background: A recent study highlighted variability in complication rates among polylactic acid (PLA)-based collagen stimulator fillers, with notably high rate of complications linked to PLLA-Elleva. The study suggested that product-specific characteristics might have greater impact on outcomes than injection techniques.
Methods/results: Through a critical analysis of pertinent literature, this commentary explores how PLLA-Elleva's unique physicochemical properties, particularly its bimodal degradation process, may contribute to the increased nodule formation observed.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally associated with human intelligence. At present, AI has been widely used in a variety of ultrasound tasks, including in point-of-care ultrasound, echocardiography, and various diseases of different organs. However, the characteristics of ultrasound, compared to other imaging modalities, such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), poses significant additional challenges to AI.

Purpose Of Review: Herein, we present an overview of innovative oral technologies utilized in colonic drug delivery systems that have made significant translational and clinical advancements to treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in recent years.
Recent Findings: The colon is home to distinct physiological conditions, such as pH and microbiota, that have been exploited in the development of colonic drug delivery systems for the treatment of local and systemic diseases. However, given the intra and interindividual variability in the gastrointestinal tract of both healthy and diseased states, various systems have shown inconsistencies in targeted drug release to the colon.
