Background: Adoptive cell therapy (ACT) with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) is a personalized immunotherapy. The efficacy of TIL-ACT has been demonstrated prospectively in patients with advanced melanoma but is not limited to melanoma patients. Many patients are refractory to TIL-ACT, however, or their cancer becomes resistant.

Background And Aims: The therapeutic management of fistulas presents significant challenges, often involving both conservative and surgical approaches. Despite these interventions, recurrence and postoperative mortality rates remain high. Endoscopic stent insertion into the fistula, along with the creation of a stent stoma, may offer a promising alternative for patients who fail surgical or conservative therapies.

A 44-year-old man with a history of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and pectus excavatum presented with multiyear history of progressive, severe respiratory dysfunction, pain, recurrent respiratory infection, and chest wall deformity. With bioprosthetic engineers, the surgical team customized a 3-dimensional printed model of a sternal implant interacting with the patient's anatomy. After approval from the Food and Drug Administration, the customized sternal plates were created and implanted in a sternal reconstruction operation.

Background: Lung cancer with interstitial pneumonia is known to be a refractory disease. We explored whether systemic inflammatory response markers are associated with outcomes in these patients.
Methods: The participants of this multicenter retrospective study, consisting of 17 medical institutions, were treatment-naïve patients with lung cancer combined with interstitial pneumonia who underwent surgical resection between 2012 and 2017.
