Background: Severe neonatal inflammatory conditions in very preterm infants (VPT: <32 weeks gestational age, GA) are linked to adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes. Differences in white matter (WM) microstructure of the corpus callosum (CC) have been observed at age 6 in VPT children with a history of severe neonatal inflammation. The goal of this study was to determine whether these CC differences can be detected at term-equivalent age using diffusion MRI (dMRI), and whether neonatal inflammation is associated with altered WM in additional tracts implicated in the encephalopathy of prematurity.

Liver-enriched antimicrobial peptide 2 (LEAP2) is a natural antagonist/inverse agonist of ghrelin receptor GHSR. Its truncated palmitoylated analog palm-LEAP2(1-14) promised anti-obesity properties because it exhibited favourable stability and an acute anorexigenic effect in our previous studies. Here we demonstrate desirable palm-LEAP2(1-14) pharmacokinetics, with significant levels of the peptide persisting in mouse blood 3 h after its subcutaneous administration.

We report herein the case of a 41-year-old man operated on for a small inferior parietal lobule ganglioglioma with a sleep-awake-sleep protocol and language mapping to avoid major speech disorders. Postoperatively, however, writing disturbance was characterized by persistent graphemic errors that lasted for about 8 months. The topic is discussed in light of recent literature, exploring the possible relationship between writing difficulties and disconnections produced by a combination of resecting supramarginal gyrus components and interrupting arcuate fasciculus fibers.

BACKGROUND Median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS) poses a considerable challenge in terms of diagnosis due to its manifestation of diverse symptoms linked to constriction of the median arcuate ligament surrounding the celiac artery. The present study introduces an earlier diagnostic modality using ultrasound measurements of the flow velocity of the celiac artery during the inspiratory and expiratory phases, with the latter being higher than the former, to avoid prolonged follow-up of postprandial symptomatology. CASE REPORT A 46-year-old female patient presented with acute postprandial abdominal pain, which was alleviated by analgesic medication.
