In order for cognitive radios to identify and take advantage of unused frequency bands, spectrum sensing is essential. Conventional techniques for spectrum sensing rely on extracting features from received signals at specific locations. However, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and recurrent neural networks (RNNs) have recently demonstrated promise in improving the precision and efficacy of spectrum sensing.

Periodontitis disproportionately affects genetic ancestral/ethnic groups. To characterize the oral microbiome from different genetic ancestral/ethnic groups, we collected 161 dental plaque samples from self-identified African Americans (AAs), Caucasian Americans (CAs), and Hispanic Americans (HAs) with clinical gingival health or biofilm-induced gingivitis on an intact periodontium. DNA was extracted from these samples, and then DNA libraries were prepared and sequenced using an Illumina NovaSeq high-throughput sequencer.

Due to imbalanced demand favoring egg whites, the egg industry faces a surplus of egg yolk, limiting overall growth. This study designed a feasible process for the crude extraction of livetins and phosvitin (PV) and revealed the related separation mechanisms. Our method utilized a 1:9 egg yolk dilution at pH 6.

With the increasing importance of meat quality inspection, traditional manual evaluation methods face challenges in terms of efficiency and accuracy. To improve the precision and efficiency of pork quality assessment, an automated detection method based on computer vision technology is proposed for evaluating different parts and freshness of pork. First, high-resolution cameras were used to capture image data of Jinfen white pigs, covering three pork cuts-hind leg, loin, and belly-across three different collection times.

However, the fatty nature of some tissue types, such as breast tissue, presents challenges with cryo-sectioning, often resulting in artifacts that can make histopathologic interpretation and correlation with other imaging modalities virtually impossible. We present an optimized on-block H&E staining technique that improves contrast for identifying collagenous stroma during cryo-fluorescence tomography (CFT) sectioning.
