Suboptimal gestational weight gain (GWG) is associated with pregnancy complications and postpartum weight retention (PPWR). Little data exists about GWG and PPWR attitudes and beliefs in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs) to inform interventions. We examined GWG and PPWR attitudes, beliefs, and intentions among pregnant people, with and without HIV, in Cape Town, South Africa.

Background: Physician grief, as defined by Kenneth Doka as disenfranchised grief, refers to "the grief that individuals experience when they incur a loss that is not openly acknowledged, publicly mourned, or socially supported." The experience of patient deaths on the emotional health of young doctors is unknown. The after-effects like stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, and others indirectly have a potential impact on decision-making and patient care.

Western populations are losing the battle over healthy weight management, and excess body weight is a notable cancer risk factor at the population level. There is ongoing interest in pharmacological interventions aimed at promoting weight loss, including GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA), which may be a useful tool to stem the rising tide of obesity-related cancers. To investigate the potential of next generation weight loss drugs (NGWLD) like GLP-1RA in population-level chemoprevention.
