Exploring Uncharted Territory: Spectroscopic Evidence on a Novel Tetrel Bond with -C≡C- Triple Bond.

J Phys Chem Lett

August 2024

Department of Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Chongqing University, No.55 Daxuecheng South Road, Shapingba, Chongqing 401331, China.

This study presents an investigation of the 2-butynyl alcohol···CO adduct, combining pulsed jet Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy with quantum chemical calculations. Two distinct isomers have been observed in the pulsed jet with a relative population ratio of 3/2. It marks the first instance of microwave spectroscopic evidence, to the best of our knowledge, suggesting the existence of a C···π tetrel bond (π···π* interaction) in both observed isomers.

An international survey of pediatric and neonatal clinicians' vascular access practice: PediSIG assessment of vascular access, education, and support (PAVES) catheter selection.

Br J Nurs

July 2020

School of Nursing and Midwifery, Griffith University, Queensland, Australia, Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research (AVATAR), Menzies Health Institute Queensland, Griffith, University, Queensland, Australia.

Highlights: There is a wide variance in neonatal and pediatric vascular access workforce models, training, and competency assessments. Pain control during procedures is critical for children, yet it is not consistently used. Procedural support has shown improved patient outcomes, yet is not standardly used for every distressful procedure.
