Unlabelled: In 54 patients with excessive obesity a silicone balloon was implanted endoscopically into the stomach. The overweight amounted to 76% (median) by Broca's formula. The therapeutical plan included balloon-implantation, dietary treatment, psychotherapeutical guidance, kineto-therapy and balloon-extraction. According to their therapeutical compliance there were three different groups of patients: G1 - maintenance of therapy; G2 - discontinuation of therapy; G3 - no additional therapy at all after balloon implantation. Up to the sixth week a weight reduction of 9.5-20.5 kg could be demonstrated in all groups. Only in the first group a further weight reduction by a mean of 20 kg after 20 weeks was noted. Patients in group 2 and 3 - in some the balloon was still implanted - had a renewed weight increase sometimes surmounting the original weight.
Complications: 3 gastric respectively duodenal ulcers, one subileus. The long-term success can only be obtained by a multi-component therapy plan.

Subclavian artery pseudoaneurysm (SAP) is a rare but lethal diagnosis, and an important condition that should be detected and managed imperatively. SAP has been seldom described in the literature, explaining the lack of concrete management guidelines. Herein we present a case study of a 63-year-old man with SAP post a transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) done 8 days prior to current presentation.

Background: It is uncertain whether ticagrelor is more effective and safer than clopidogrel in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients in the East Asian population in the real world. This study compared the clinical outcomes of ticagrelor and clopidogrel in STEMI patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 1124 patients diagnosed with STEMI in Nanjing First Hospital from July 2011 to April 2019.
Severe aortic valve stenosis poses a significant risk for the aging population, often escalating from mild symptoms to life-threatening heart failure and sudden death. Without timely intervention, this condition can lead to disastrous outcomes. The advent of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has gained popularity, emerging as an effective alternative for managing severe aortic stenosis (AS) in high-risk patients experiencing deterioration of previously implanted bioprosthetic surgical aortic valves (SAV), which introduces complex challenges such as device compatibility and anatomical considerations.

We present a case of an 86-year-old female with chronic mesenteric ischemia secondary to long-segment flush occlusion of the superior mesenteric artery and near-total occlusion of the celiac artery. The superior mesenteric artery was unable to be revascularized by conventional antegrade approaches. Successful transcollateral crossing of the occluded superior mesenteric artery and body-flossing, followed by antegrade balloon angioplasty, shockwave lithotripsy, and stent implantation were performed.

We retrospectively evaluated 42 patients who underwent PPVI (Sapien® XT valve) to native RVOT due to severe pulmonary regurgitation (PR) and/or moderate to severe pulmonary stenosis (PS) between August 2015 and November 2020. The median patient age at the time of PPVI was 13.
