Parathyroid cysts (PCs) are rare, benign, cystic lesions, and PCs that occur in the mediastinum (mediastinal parathyroid cysts [MPCs]) are even more rare. Surgical resection is recommended as the first choice of treatment for MPCs. Sternotomy, thoracotomy, and thoracoscopic approaches are the most common methods for resection of MPCs. Herein, we report a case of robotic right portal minimally invasive resection of a giant nonfunctional MPC in the right anterosuperior mediastinum.

Surgical resection of non-functioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (NF-PitNET) is associated with new onset hormonal axis (HA) dysfunction, and factors predicting HA dysfunction are controversial, especially in large and giant NF-PitNET. Thus, we evaluated the postoperative hormonal function and assessed factors affecting HA dysfunction in patients with NF-PitNET. This prospective observational study involved 50 patients who underwent endoscopic surgical resection of NF-PitNET in the Department of Neurosurgery (April 2023-March 2024).

We report a case in which a giant hepatic cyst located at the hepatic hilum and compressing the inferior vena cava was safely treated laparoscopically with careful attention to hemodynamics in a difficult fenestrated resection in a patient with severe kyphosis. The anatomic location of the cyst was evaluated preoperatively via 3D reconstruction of computed tomography images to identify a site where safe fenestrated resection could be performed. This was challenging because the surgical field was narrow due to the presence of severe kyphosis, and there was a risk of damage to surrounding organs during fenestrated resection.

Background: The shoulder girdle and proximal humerus are common sites for neoplastic lesions be it benign or malignant. We aimed to evaluate the outcomes of a frugal method of reconstruction of the proximal humerus for neoplastic lesions at short to medium term follow-up.
Methods: Data for this retrospective case series was collected from an electronic data base held at the primary authors institution.
