Gingival recession is an apical migration of gingival margin that is a common finding on patients with meticulous oral hygiene and periodontitis patients. Several surgical treatment techniques of gingival recession have been described. The most challenging situation is the presence of multiple adjacent recession defects. 15 patients with total of 53 recession defects have been treated with Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM). The following clinical parameters were evaluated recession depth (RD), probing depth (PD); and the width of the keratinized tissue (KT). Upon completion of the study; there was statistically significant () reduction in recession depth from baseline, one and three years after the surgery (2.6 mm, 0.32 mm, and 0.17 mm, respectively). There was statistically significant () increase in the width of keratinized tissue from baseline to one year and three years (3.47 mm, 5.02 mm, and 5.40 mm, respectively). Based on this study the use of ADM with the coronally advanced flap resulted in a significant increase in keratinized tissue and percentage of root surface coverage.

Epilepsy is a serious neurological disease that impacts all facets of a patient's life, including their socioeconomic situation. The failure to identify underlying epileptic signatures in their early stages might result in severe harm to the central nervous system (CNS) and permanent adverse changes to some organs. Therefore, numerous antiepileptic drugs (AEDs are frequently used to control and treat the frequency of seizures.

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease that is endemic worldwide and is characterized by persistent hyperglycemia accompanied by multiple severe complications, including cardiovascular disease, kidney dysfunction, neuropathy, and retinopathy. The pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus and its complications is multifactorial, involving various molecular and cellular pathways. In recent years, research has indicated that mechanisms of cell death play a significant role in the advancement of diabetes and its complications.

Objectives: To use finite element (FE) modeling and in vivo optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging to explore the effect of ciliary muscle traction on optic nerve head (ONH) deformation during accommodation.
Methods: We developed a FE model to mimic the ciliary muscle traction during accommodation, and varied the stiffness of the sclera, choroid, Bruch's membrane (BM), prelaminar neural tissue and lamina cribrosa (LC) to assess their effects on accommodation-induced ONH strains. To validate the FE model, OCT images of the right eyes' ONHs from 20 subjects (25 ± 1.

Genetics plays a significant role in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), with approximately 12.6% of cases occurring in familial form. While previous studies have demonstrated differences in disease progression and MRI findings between familial and sporadic MS, there has been no comparison of cognitive impairment between them.

Oropharyngeal and orthognathic surgeries cause more postoperative pain than simple dental procedures. The lack of detailed pain pattern analysis after dental surgeries makes pain management challenging. We assessed postoperative pain patterns in patients undergoing various dental surgeries, categorized based on changing pain levels, and identified the most frequent surgical procedures within each pain pattern cluster.
