For rough surfaces, stable, fast, and repeatable fixation has wide applicability in transportation, fire protection, and other fields. Different rough surfaces present technical challenges for achieving convenient and reliable fixation. Based on the highly adhesive attachment structures of typical organisms, a multi-mechanism (negative pressure adsorption, mechanical locking, and chemical bonding) cooperative bionic fixation device is proposed.

The attachment of low-energy electrons (LEEs) to DNA biomolecules leads to irreversible damage. However, the behavior of this interaction can be influenced by the presence of amino acids. Herein, we have delved into the mechanism of electron attachment to the guanosine in the presence of arginine.

The kinetics of the reactions of HO, NO, O˙ and O˙ with -hexane, 3-methylpentane, 2,5-dimethylhexane and 2,3-dimethylheptane were studied experimentally under several selected ion flow tube (SIFT) conditions: in a Profile 3 instrument in He and N carrier gases at 300 K and in the Voice200 instrument in N carrier gas at 300 and 393 K - where the effect of the extraction lens voltage was also assessed. It was found that HO ions react differently than expected, with reaction rates slower than collisional. Instead of transferring a proton, they associate and form fragment product ions [M-H].

Non-axisymmetric frictionless JKR-type adhesive contact between a rigid body and a thin incompressible elastic layer bonded to a rigid base is considered in the framework of the leading-order asymptotic model, which has the form of an overdetermined boundary value problem. Based on the first-order perturbation of the Neumann operator in the Dirichlet problem for Poisson's equation, the decohesion initiation problem is formulated in the form of a variational inequality. The asymptotic model assumes that the contact zone and its boundary contour during the detachment process are unknown.

Undercutting anchors are structural elements used in construction and geotechnics to stabilize both structures and soils. Their main applications include stabilizing slopes and embankments, reinforcing foundations, and providing support during tunnel construction and other underground works. The authors propose the use of these anchors in rock mass detachment technology.
