Cardiac neoplasms are a diagnostic challenge on many levels. They are rare, their clinical presentation may mimic other much more common cardiac diseases, and they are at an uncommon intersection of oncologic and cardiac imaging. The pathology of primary cardiac neoplasms explains their varied imaging features, for example, calcification in primary cardiac osteosarcomas and T2 hyperintensity in myxomas. Integrating the imaging and pathologic features of cardiac tumors furthers our understanding of the spectrum of appearances of these neoplasms and improves the clinical imager's ability to confidently make a diagnosis.

Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), a zinc-dependent enzyme, plays a critical role in the degradation and remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM). As a member of the gelatinase subgroup of matrix metalloproteinases, MMP-2 is involved in a variety of physiological processes, including tissue repair, wound healing, angiogenesis, and embryogenesis. It is primarily responsible for the degradation of type IV and V collagen, fibronectin, laminin, and elastin, which are essential components of the ECM.

: The lateral arm flap has been a very useful choice for the reconstruction of small to medium-sized defects, such as in the hands, extremities, and oral head and neck area. Its versatile characteristics and surgical feasibility allow this flap to be widely applied, but its reconstructive potential in the facial subunit after tumor ablation procedures has never been reported. In this study, we aimed to utilize the advantages of this flap to carry out facial temple subunit defect reconstruction.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDSs) are a group of hematologic neoplasms accompanied by dysplasia of bone marrow (BM) hematopoietic cells with cytopenia. Recently, digitalized pathology and pathomics using computerized feature analysis have been actively researched for classifying and predicting prognosis in various tumors of hematopoietic tissues. This study analyzed the pathomic features of hematopoietic cells in BM aspiration smears of patients with MDS according to each hematopoietic cell lineage and dysplasia.
