Locally advanced basal cell carcinoma (laBCC) represents a rare but possible occurrence in the vast scenario of dermatological diseases. It is well known that most BCC has a pathological activation of the hedgehog pathway, making them susceptible to targeted therapy with selective inhibitors. Sonidegib, approved for the treatment of laBCC on the basis of the results of the basal cell carcinoma outcomes with LDE225 treatment study, demonstrated rapid efficacy and a manageable safety profile. Here, we describe the case of a patient affected by multiple laBCC treated with Sonidegib. The patient experienced an important regression of tumors after only 2 months of therapy, with few side effects. This result confirms the role of Sonidegib as a valid and well-tolerated therapeutic option for laBCC.

Butterfly wing eyespots are developmentally determined at the early pupal stage, when prospective eyespot focal cells underneath the pupal cuticle focal spot function as eyespot organizers in the pupal wing tissue. Here, we performed light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to describe cellular structures of pupal wing tissue with an eyespot organizer immediately after pupation using the Blue Pansy butterfly Junonia orithya. The pupal forewing dorsal epidermis was a pseudostratified monolayer of vertically elongated epidermal cells.

Systemic mitochondrial dysfunction, dopamine loss, sustained structural changes in the basal ganglia including reduced tyrosine hydroxylase, and altered gait- these effects observed in space-flown animals and astronauts mirrors Parkinson's disease (PD). Evidence of mitochondrial changes in space-flown human cells, examined through the lens of PD, suggests that spaceflight-induced PD-like molecular changes are important to monitor during deep space exploration. These changes, may potentially elevate the risk of PD in astronauts.

Vangl is a planar cell polarity (PCP) core protein essential for aligned cell orientation along the epithelial plane perpendicular to the apical-basal direction, which is important for tissue morphogenesis, development and collective cell behavior. Mutations in Vangl are associated with developmental defects, including neural tube defects (NTDs), according to human cohort studies of sporadic and familial cases. The complex mechanisms underlying Vangl-mediated PCP signaling or Vangl-associated human congenital diseases have been hampered by the lack of molecular characterizations of Vangl.

Scabiosa artropurperea, a member of the Dipsacaceae family and Scabiosa genus, is renowned for its medicinal properties. In the present study, we investigated the impact of Scabiosa artropurperea aqueous extract (AES) on the in vivo reproductive functions in Queue Fine de l'Ouest ewes, and on in vitro ovine granulosa cells.
