An efficient copper(I)-catalyzed enyne oxidation/cyclopropanation for the modular synthesis of cyclopropane derivatives is described, which represents the first non-noble metal-catalyzed enynes oxidation/cyclopropanation by the in situ generated α-oxo copper carbenes. This protocol allows the assembly of valuable cyclopropane-γ-lactams in generally good to excellent yields with excellent diastereoselectivity. More significantly, the enantioselective version of enyne oxidation/cyclopropanation has been disclosed with chiral copper catalysts.

Gold(I)-catalyzed highly diastereo- and enantioselective alkyne oxidation/cyclopropanation of 1,6-enynes.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

December 2014

Shanghai Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Chemical Processes, Department of Chemistry, East China Normal University, Shanghai 200062 (P.R. China).

A highly enantioselective oxidative cyclopropanation of 1,6-enynes catalyzed by cationic Au(I)/chiral phophoramidite complexes is presented. The new method provides convenient access to densely functionalized bicyclo[3.1.

A gold(I)-catalyzed intramolecular oxidation-cyclopropanation sequence of 1,6-enynes: a convenient access to [n.1.0]bicycloalkanes.

Chem Commun (Camb)

October 2011

Shanghai Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Chemical Processes, Department of Chemistry, East China Normal University, 3663 N, Zhongshan Road, Shanghai 200062, PR China.

A gold(I)-catalyzed tandem oxidation/cyclopropanation reaction of 1,6-enynes with an external oxidant has been developed. This quite simple and rapid strategy will provide a safe, mild and versatile avenue to numerous carbo- and hetero [n.1.
