Background: Preterm infants (PIs) are more susceptible to neurodevelopmental impairment compared with term newborns. Adequate postnatal growth has been associated with improved neurocognitive outcomes; therefore, optimization of nutrition may positively impact the neurodevelopment of PIs.

Objective: This study focused on macronutrient parenteral nutrition (PN) intake during the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit stay and their associations with neurodevelopmental outcomes in PIs in the first two years of life.

Objective: Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a well-established treatment for anxiety disorders in the general population. However, the efficacy of CBT for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and otherwise non-heterosexual or non-cisgender (LGBTQ+) people with anxiety disorders is still emerging in the literature. This protocol proposes an exploratory, two-group, randomized controlled trial comparing the efficacy of CBT for anxiety disorders against a waitlist control group.

General Practice Clinical Unit, Faculty of Clinical Medicine, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

Introduction: Antimicrobial resistance is a global emergency related to overprescribing of antibiotics. Few studies have explored how prescribing behaviours may change as the consequence of changing resistance. Understanding how contextual factors influence antibiotic prescribing will facilitate improved communication strategies to promote appropriate antibiotic prescribing.

Deep-Sea Ecosystems as an Unexpected Source of Antibiotic Resistance Genes.

Mar Drugs

December 2024

NHC Key Laboratory of Tropical Disease Control, School of Tropical Medicine, Hainan Medical University, Haikou 571199, China.

The deep-sea ecosystem, a less-contaminated reservoir of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), has evolved antibiotic resistance for microbes to survive and utilize scarce resources. Research on the diversity and distribution of these genes in deep-sea environments is limited. Our metagenomics study employed short-read-based (SRB) and assembled-contig-based (ACB) methods to identify ARGs in deep-sea waters and sediments and assess their potential pathogenicity.

is a well-known edible and medicinal fungus with significant economic value. However, the available whole-genome information is lacking for this species. The chromosome-scale reference genome (Monop) and two haploid genomes (Hap1 and Hap2) of , each assembled into 11 pseudochromosomes, were constructed using Illumina, PacBio-HiFi long-read sequencing, and Hi-C technology.
