Introduction: Management of urethral trauma lacks clarity in the paediatric population. There is no clear guidance for management and follow-up of these patients which can lead to missing the long-term sequelae of the primary injury. Purpose: Wearable electronic low vision enhancement systems (wEVES) improve visual function but are not widely adopted by people with vision impairment. Here, qualitative research methods were used to investigate the usefulness of wEVES for people with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) after an extended home trial.
Methods: Following a 12-week non-masked randomised crossover trial, semi-structured interviews were completed with 34 participants with AMD, 64.

Recalcitrant bacterial infections can be caused by various types of dormant bacteria, including persisters and viable but nonculturable (VBNC) cells. Despite their clinical importance, we know fairly little about bacterial dormancy development and recovery. Previously, we established a correlation between protein aggregation and dormancy in Escherichia coli.

Morphophysiological dormancy (MPD) is considered one of the most primitive dormancy classes among seed plants. While extensive studies have examined the occurrence of endo-β-mannanase in seeds with physiological dormancy (PD) or non-dormancy, little is known about the activity of this enzyme in seeds with MPD. This study aimed to investigate the temporal and spatial patterns of endo-β-mannanase activity during dormancy break and germination.
