Enterobacter hormaechei is a foodborne pathogen responsible for neonatal sepsis in humans and respiratory disease in animals. In this work, a new virulent phage (P.A-5) infecting E. hormaechei was isolated from domestic sewage samples and characterized. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that P.A-5 belonged to the family Myoviridae having a head size of 77.53 nm and a tail length of 72.24 nm. The burst size was 262 PFU/cell after a latent period of 20 min. Phage P.A-5 was able to survive in a pH range of 4-9 and resist temperatures up to 55 °C for 60 min. The genome sequence of P.A-5 had homology most similar to that of Shigellae phage MK-13 (GenBank: MK509462.1). Pork artificially contaminated with E. hormaechei was used as a model to evaluate the potential of P.A-5. The results clearly showed that P.A-5 treatment can completely inhibit E. hormaechei growth in pork within 8 h, indicating the potential use of P.A-5 as a biocontrol agent for E. hormaechei.

A golden fullerene with a composition of [Au(PhP)(5-CF-Hpa)] (CFCOO) (5-CF-Hpa=5-trifluoropyridyl-2-amine) (Au) has been synthesized with pyridylamino and phosphine ligands as the protecting agents. Single crystal X-ray structural analysis reveals that the cluster has a D Au core, which can be depicted as a centered core-shell structure Au@Au@Au. The 41 Au atoms of the Au@Au core-shell can be derived from placing a gold atom in the center of each polygon of C (D).

β-Caryophyllene is a natural bicyclic sesquiterpene found in a large number of plants around the world. It has anti-inflammatory, anticancer and analgesic biological activities associated with its important medicinal value, and has also attracted attention in the field of bioenergy with high energy density. Due to the low amount of β-caryophyllene in plants and complex purification process, microbial biosynthesis is considered as a promising alternative for the industrial development of β-caryophyllene.

A novel, rapid production methodology for laboratory-made carbon electrodes (LCE) employing cost-effective and readily available materials has developed in the present work. The LCE presents superior electrochemical characteristics compared to commercially available screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCE). Furthermore, this research has demonstrated the performance of readily accessible, highly sensitive, and portable biosensors for on-site detection of E.

Background And Purpose: Physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior are key targets for secondary stroke prevention, yet their characteristics and contributing factors are not well understood. This study aims to explore PA and sedentary behavior in individuals' post-stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) and identify factors linked to low PA (≤5,000 steps/day) and prolonged sedentary time (≥8 h/day).
Methods: A cross-sectional study comparing sensor-derived (activPAL) PA and sedentary time among community-dwelling individuals post stroke or TIA residing in diverse geographical regions of Sweden.

This paper presents the novel development of a shape memory polymer foam based on polymer-polymer nanocomposites. Herein, polylactide (PLA)/biosourced polyamide (PA) foams are fabricated by in situ fibrillation of polymer blends and a subsequent supercritical CO foaming technique. In this system, PLA serves as a shape memory polymer to endow this foam with a shape memory effect (SME), and in situ generated PA nanofibers are employed to reinforce the PLA cell walls and provide an additional permanent phase.
