Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common neoplastic diseases worldwide. With a high recurrence rate among all cancers, treatment of CRC only improved a little over the last two decades. The mortality and morbidity rates can be significantly lessened by earlier diagnosis and prompt treatment. Available biomarkers are not sensitive enough for the diagnosis of CRC, whereas the standard diagnostic method, endoscopy, is an invasive test and expensive. Hence, seeking the diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of CRC is urgent and challenging. With that order, we screened the overlapped differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of GEO (GSE110223, GSE110224, GSE113513) and TCGA datasets. Subsequent protein-protein interaction network analysis recognized the hub genes among these DEGs. Further functional analyses including Gene Ontology and KEGG pathway analysis and gene set enrichment analysis were processed to investigate the role of these genes and potential underlying mechanisms in CRC. Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox hazard ratio analysis were carried out to clarify the diagnostic and prognostic role of these genes. In conclusion, our present study demonstrated that CCNA2, MAD2L1, DLGAP5, AURKA, and RRM2 are all potential diagnostic biomarkers for CRC and may also be potential treatment targets for clinical implication in the future.

Background: We aim to identify risk factors contributing to extended rehospitalizations in patients diagnosed with postpartum endometritis requiring intravenous antibiotics.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study examined postpartum endometritis patients readmitted for treatment from 2014 to 2022, comparing short (≤ 48 h) and prolonged hospitalization (> 48 h). Data included patient demographics, medical history, presentation parameters, vaginal examination findings, sonographic data, laboratory results, and details of the current labor to create a scoring system predicting prolonged hospitalization risk.

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a primary systemic vasculitis affecting the elderly, characterized by a granulomatous vessel wall inflammation of large- and medium-sized arteries. The immunopathology of GCA is complex, involving both the innate and adaptive arms of the immune system, where a maladaptive inflammatory-driven vascular repair process ultimately results in vessel wall thickening, intramural vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation, neovascularization and vessel lumen occlusion, which can lead to serious ischemic complications such as visual loss and ischemic stroke. Over the past decade, microRNA (miRNA) dysregulation has been highlighted as an important contributing factor underlying the pathogenesis of GCA.

Method: Our study included 122 EC patients who underwent PET/CT for staging. Muscle and adipose tissue characteristics were evaluated, including lumbar(L3) and cervical(C3) muscle areas, psoas major(PM) and sternocleidomastoid muscle(SCM) parameters, and PET parameters for visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue(SAT).

High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is the most aggressive subtype of epithelial ovarian cancer and a leading cause of mortality among gynecologic malignancies. This review aims to comprehensively analyze the morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular features of HGSOC, highlighting its pathogenesis and identifying biomarkers with diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic significance. Special emphasis is placed on the role of tumor microenvironment (TME) and genomic instability in shaping the tumor's behavior and therapeutic vulnerabilities.
