(Mazaceae) is a perennial herb with opposite leaves and endemic to central China that has not been collected for 130 years. Rediscovery of this enigmatic species in the wild allows for determination of its phylogenetic position within Mazaceae. Phylogenetic reconstruction of Mazaceae based on DNA sequences from four plastid markers (, , and -) and nuclear ribosome ITS consistently showed that was not monophyletic. is in the most basal clade within Mazaceae, as sister to the remaining species of three recognized genera , and . These results support the separation of from as a new genus, which was established here as Bo Li, D.G. Zhang & C.L. Xiang. Meanwhile, a collection from Shennongjia Forestry District of Hubei Province, China, misidentified as "" in previous molecular study, is here revealed to represent an undescribed species of , i.e., Bo Li, D.G. Zhang & C.L. Xiang, Morphologically, is clearly distinct from the other three genera by having quadrangular to somewhat ribbed stems, and obviously opposite leaves. In addition, we provide a taxonomic key to the four genera of Mazaceae.

Ya'an Tibetan tea, a dark tea with a rich historical heritage, is typically processed using two primary piling fermentation methods: wet piling with rolled leaves (moisture content around 60%) and dry piling with sun-dried or baked green tea leaves (moisture content below 30%). This study employed sensory evaluation, targeted and non-targeted metabolomics, and fungal Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) sequencing to investigate changes in quality components and fungal composition in Tibetan tea processed by both wet and dry-piling methods. The results revealed that 3,7-Dimethyl-1,5,7-octatriene-3-ol and D-limonene were identified as key volatile metabolites contributing to the aroma variations between the dry and wet-piled teas.

Many diseases and pests are fond of the backs of leaves, making wraparound deposition essential for enhancing agrochemical utilization and minimizing environmental hazards. We present a superhydrophobic surface decorated with fluorinated-SiO nanoparticles on the adaxial (front) side, improving sprayed droplet wraparound behaviors and achieving a 10-fold increase in abaxial (backside) deposition without using an electrostatic sprayer. Solid-liquid contact electrification boosts the positive charge-to-mass ratio of rebound spraying from 17 to 454 nC g, with the abaxial surface acquiring opposite electric charges at kilovolt-level voltages.
