Background Thyroid nodules are typically an initial sign of thyroid cancer (TC) and require evaluation by thyroid ultrasonography. Additional measures, such as fine needle aspiration, may be necessary depending on the level of malignancy risk. This study aims to comprehensively analyze TC clinical, radiological, and histopathological characteristics in a cohort of Saudi patients.

The maximum power delivered by a photovoltaic system is greatly influenced by atmospheric conditions such as irradiation and temperature and by surrounding objects like trees, raindrops, tall buildings, animal droppings, and clouds. The partial shading caused by these surrounding objects and the rapidly changing atmospheric parameters make maximum power point tracking (MPPT) challenging. This paper proposes a hybrid MPPT algorithm that combines the benefits of the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) and hill climbing (HC) techniques.

Phospholipids are the most abundant component in lipid membranes and are essential for the structural and functional integrity of the cell. In eukaryotic cells, phospholipids are primarily synthesized de novo through the Kennedy pathway that involves multiple enzymatic processes. The terminal reaction is mediated by a group of cytidine-5'-diphosphate (CDP)-choline /CDP-ethanolamine-phosphotransferases (CPT/EPT) that use 1,2-diacylglycerol (DAG) and CDP-choline or CDP-ethanolamine to produce phosphatidylcholine (PC) or phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) that are the main phospholipids in eukaryotic cells.

3D chromatin hubs as regulatory units of identity and survival in human acute leukemia.

Cancer progression involves genetic and epigenetic changes that disrupt chromatin 3D organization, affecting enhancer-promoter interactions and promoting growth. Here, we provide an integrative approach, combining chromatin conformation, accessibility, and transcription analysis, validated by in silico and CRISPR-interference screens, to identify relevant 3D topologies in pediatric T cell leukemia (T-ALL and ETP-ALL). We characterize 3D hubs as regulatory centers for oncogenes and disease markers, linking them to biological processes like cell division, inflammation, and stress response.

Pterosaurs were the first vertebrates to achieve powered flight. Early pterosaurs had long stiff tails with a mobile base that could shift their center of mass, potentially benefiting flight control. These tails ended in a tall, thin soft tissue vane that would compromise aerodynamic control and efficiency if it fluttered excessively during flight.
