Antiangiogenic drugs may cause vascular normalization and correct hypoxia in tumors, shifting cells to mitochondrial respiration as the primary source of energy. In turn, the addition of an inhibitor of mitochondrial respiration to antiangiogenic therapy holds potential to induce synthetic lethality. This study evaluated the mitochondrial inhibitor ME-344 in combination with bevacizumab in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).

Genotype-phenotype association tests are typically adjusted for population stratification using principal components that are estimated genome-wide. This lacks resolution when analysing populations with fine structure and/or individuals with fine levels of admixture. This can affect power and precision, and is a particularly relevant consideration when control individuals are recruited using geographic selection criteria.

Background: Chronotype is associated with circadian rhythmicity, a core etiological factor underlying bipolar disorder (BD). Given converging evidence linking late chronotype with poor mental health, the goal of the present study was to examine chronotype (in)stability and its relation to mood symptoms over time.
Methods: Participants with BD I (n = 271), BD II (n = 88), and healthy controls (n = 217) were included (follow-up=10 years, Range=5-15) from the Prechter Longitudinal Study.
