Background: Low response inhibition underlies attention disorders and hyperactivity. The aim of this study is to check whether these processes will be strengthened by three months of training with metacognitive strategies.
Methodology: Forty-five schoolchildren took part in an experimental study ( = 10.41; = 1.42). Each child had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The participants were randomly assigned into three groups: the first group was tested for the effect of Mind Maps; the second group, for the effect of Sketchnoting, while the third group was assigned the role of a Control group. All of the groups were examined with the Loud Subtraction 7 test (LS7T) with a distractor before and after the training.
Results: Analysis with the Wilcoxon test showed that children with ADHD made significantly fewer errors in the LS7 Test in the second measurement in the Mind Maps group (1 = 7.45; 1 = 4.07; 2 = 5.76; 2 = 4.68; = 0.02). In the remaining groups, there were no statistically significant differences in the average number of errors made.
Conclusions: Mind Maps are an effective metacognitive strategy. Regular use of this method strengthens the inhibition of children with ADHD in this study. It can complement the existing forms of support for the child.

Hydroa vacciniforme lymphoproliferative disorders (HVLPD) fall within the clinical spectrum of chronic active epstein barr virus (EBV) disease (CAEBVD), ranging from localised and/or indolent forms (classic HVLPD) to systemic disease with fever, hepatosplenomegaly and lymphadenopathy (systemic HVLPD). A preadolescent male with 47XYY, multicystic dysplastic kidney, autism spectrum disorder and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) presented with photodistributed non-pruritic, non-painful necrotic papulovesicles accompanied by non-febrile intermittent fatigue and lymphadenopathy. The patient had a history of EBV pneumonia in infancy confirmed by CT scan and was later diagnosed with CAEBV.

Background/objectives: Routine screening electrocardiograms (ECGs) prior to starting medications for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) remain controversial. This real-world study assessed corrected QT (QTc) interval data from pediatric patients who had a baseline ECG performed prior to initiating treatment with ADHD medications and ≥6 months of clinical follow-up.
Methods: A retrospective chart review of children aged 2-18 years diagnosed with ADHD with/without autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at child neurology clinics in Jordan (June 2019 and June 2021) was performed, and children were prescribed with ADHD medications to manage symptoms.
