Driver gene-negative advanced-stage lung adenocarcinoma is associated with a poor prognosis and insufficient treatment options. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety profile of a programmed cell death protein 1/programmed death-ligand 1 inhibitor plus bevacizumab and chemotherapy (PBC) regimen for the treatment of patients with driver gene-negative advanced-stage lung adenocarcinoma under real-world clinical conditions. Data from 65 patients with advanced-stage lung adenocarcinoma without sensitizing epidermal growth factor receptor, ALK receptor tyrosine kinase or ROS proto-oncogene 1 receptor tyrosine kinase mutations who received a PBC regimen or only a BC regimen were reviewed in the present retrospective cohort study.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares the effectiveness and long-term outcomes of two surgical treatments, microvascular decompression (MVD) and percutaneous balloon compression (PBC), for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia affecting the maxillary branch in 157 patients over three years.
  • Both MVD and PBC showed similar rates of pain relief immediately after surgery and at the 12-month mark, though MVD had notably fewer complications such as facial numbness and masticatory weakness.
  • MVD provided a longer duration of pain relief compared to PBC, with most patients experiencing recurrence of symptoms within 1-2 years post-surgery.

Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease typically diagnosed by elevated cholestatic liver enzymes and a positive anti-mitochondrial antibody (AMA) test. The clinical importance of AMA positivity in patients with normal cholestatic liver enzymes is unclear. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between PBC and AMA positivity detected in individuals with normal cholestatic enzyme levels.

Objective: Investigate the feasibility of detecting early treatment-induced tumor tissue changes in patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma using diffusion-weighted MRI-derived radiomics features.

Methods: This prospective observational study included 144 patients receiving either tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI, n = 64) or platinum-based chemotherapy (PBC, n = 80) for the treatment of pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Patients underwent diffusion-weighted MRI the day prior to therapy (baseline, all patients), as well as either + 1 (PBC) or + 7 and + 14 (TKI) days after treatment initiation.
