, flaxleaf fleabane, is a serious weed in Australian agricultural systems, particularly the north-east cropping system. We present the complete chloroplast sequence of reconstructed from Illumina whole genome shotgun sequencing. This is the first complete chloroplast genome available for genus . The complete chloroplast sequence is 153,014 bp long, and has the same gene content and structure as other members of the tribe Astereae. A Bayesian phylogeny of the chloroplast coding regions of 18 representatives of Astereae is presented. The chloroplast genome is deposited at GenBank under accession number MF276802.

Introduction: Mitochondria are essential organelles that provide energy for plants. They are semi-autonomous, maternally inherited, and closely linked to cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) in plants. , a widely used medicinal plant from the Caprifoliaceae family, is rich in chlorogenic acid (CGA) and its analogues, which are known for their antiviral and anticancer properties.

, a marine benthic diatom, holds promise for human nutrition and health as well as for aquaculture applications. However, the scarcity of organelle genome data within the Navicula clade has impeded a comprehensive understanding and utilization of this group. Our research presents a pioneering exploration into the complete mitochondrial and chloroplast genome sequences of CACC 0356, shedding light on its phylogeny and evolutionary history.

College of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Sciences, Southwest Research Center for Engineering Technology of Landscape Architecture (State Forestry and Grassland Administration), Yunnan Engineering Research Center for Functional Flower Resources and Industrialization, Research and Development Center of Landscape Plants and Horticulture Flowers, Southwest Forestry University, Kunming 650224, China.

is a genus of functional herbaceous plants in the Balsaminaceae, which are not only of great ornamental value and one of the world's top three flower bedding plants but also have a wide range of medicinal and edible uses. Currently, the taxonomy and phylogenetic relationships of species are still controversial. In order to better understand their chloroplast properties and phylogenetic evolution, nine plants (, , , , , , , , ) were sequenced, and their complete chloroplast genomes were analysed.
