Hydrosulphite (HSO ), as a common and important chemical reagent, is widely used in everyday life, however excessive use and abuse of HSO can cause potential harmful effects on the environment and in biological health. In this paper, we describe the design and preparation of a colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescence probe for the visual detection of HSO (excitation wavelengths were, respectively, 336 nm and 520 nm). This method showed some advantages including simple preparation, high selectivity, fast response, and significant colour and fluorescence ratio (F /F ) changes in the presence of HSO . In addition, this probe was used successfully for the detection of HSO in real water samples and showed a good recovery rate range.

In this project, a new heterogeneous polymeric ionic liquid catalyst based on vinylimidazole, stabilized on magnetic nanoparticles )FeO@AlO@[PBVIm]HSO) was prepared. Then the desired catalyst was identified by TGA, FT-IR, VSM, and TEM techniques. The efficiency of this catalyst was measured in the synthesis of chromene, xanthene, and dihydropyrimidinone.

Colorimetric chemosensors L and L, based on isoniazid hydrazones, have been designed for the highly sensitive and selective recognition of CN ion. Competing experiments were conducted with various other anions such as F, Cl, Br, I, SCN, ClO, ClO, NO, HPO, SO, and HSO in an acetonitrile solution. In the UV-Vis spectra, a bathochromic shift in the absorption bands of both hydrazones was observed following the addition of cyanide.

Introduction: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) alters the gut microbiome. This study aimed to assess the association between the disease severity of COVID-19 and changes in stool microbes through a seven-month follow-up of stool collection.

Methods: We conducted a multicentre, prospective longitudinal study of 58 COVID-19 patients and 116 uninfected controls.

A fluorescence and colorimetric sensor (AHT) was developed to detect HSO/SO in a 10 mM aqueous PBS buffer at pH 7.4. AHT exhibits non-fluorescence in the buffer due to the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT).

Article Synopsis
  • * A newly designed FUCL probe, PT-1, shows high sensitivity and selectivity in detecting HSO, with a detection limit significantly lower than traditional methods (43 nM vs. 93 nM).
  • * PT-1 not only targets mitochondria for real-time monitoring of HSO in living cells but also successfully tracks HSO levels in mice experiencing drug-induced liver injury using FUCL imaging.
