In magnetic resonance (MR) only radiotherapy, the target delineation needs to be performed without computed tomography (CT). We investigated in thirteen patients with prostate cancer, how the clinical target volume (CTV) was affected, when the target delineation procedure was changed from using both CT and MR images to using MR images only. The mean volume of the CTV was 61.0 cm as compared to 49.9 cm from MR-only based target delineation, corresponding to an average decrease of 18%. Our results show that CTV was consistently smaller than CTV, which has to be taken into consideration before clinical commissioning of MR-only radiotherapy.

The maintenance of intracellular and extracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels plays a pivotal role in cardiac function. In recent years, burgeoning attention has been directed towards ATP-induced cell death (AICD), revealing it as a distinct cellular demise pathway triggered by heightened extracellular ATP concentrations, distinguishing it from other forms of cell death such as apoptosis and necrosis. AICD is increasingly acknowledged as a critical mechanism mediating the pathogenesis and progression of various cardiovascular maladies, encompassing myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, and diabetic cardiomyopathy.

Introduction: Radiological scores used to assess the extent of subarachnoid hemorrhage are limited by intrarater and interrater variability and do not utilize all available information from the imaging. Image segmentation enables precise identification and delineation of objects or regions of interest and offers the potential for automatization of score assessments using precise volumetric information. Our study aims to develop a deep learning model that enables automated multiclass segmentation of structures and pathologies relevant for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage outcome prediction.

Background And Purpose: Accurate segmentation of the clinical target volume (CTV) is essential to deliver an effective radiation dose to tumor tissues in cervical cancer radiotherapy. Also, although automated CTV segmentation can reduce oncologists' workload, challenges persist due to the microscopic spread of tumor cells undetectable in CT imaging, low-intensity contrast between organs, and inter-observer variability. This study aims to develop and validate a multi-task feature fusion network (MTF-Net) that uses distance-based information to enhance CTV segmentation accuracy.

Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) stresses the vascular contributions to cognitive decline, ranging from mild to major forms. Except for symptomatic treatment for relevant vascular diseases, the other recommended strategy is to intervene in key vascular risk factors (VRFs) as early as possible. A considerable amount of previous research delineated the association of a specific factor with dementia, involving each risk factor discussed in the present review.

Aims: Brachytherapy is advantageous for localised rhabdomyosarcomas in children compared with external beam radiotherapy, sparing close organs at risk with highly conformal dosimetry. A methodology for planning and delivering fractionated high-dose-rate paediatric pelvic brachytherapy is detailed, and the dosimetric parameters are presented. This provides a practical template for radiotherapy departments with a similar patient cohort to implement this treatment technique.
