We report the case of an 18-month-old boy who developed a phototoxic skin reaction to terbinafine on his scalp, ears, and face in the form of disseminated erythematous plaques, which resembled subacute lupus erythematosus (SCLE) in their clinical presentation. Skin changes appeared a short time after the boy was exposed to sunlight during the period of time when he was treated with oral terbinafine due to Microsporum canis fungal scalp infection. Tinea capitis is a common dermatophyte infection primarily affecting prepubertal children (1).

Delays in language often co-occur among toddlers diagnosed with autism. Despite the high prevalence of language delays, the neurobiology underlying such language challenges remains unclear. Prior research has shown reduced EEG power across multiple frequency bands in 3-to-6-month-old infants with an autistic sibling, followed by accelerated increases in power with age.

This study presents a detailed clinical case of a 10-year-old boy with a history of prolonged cough, fever, and delayed diagnosis of bronchiectasis. Review of the case revealed that the child has had recurrent bronchitis, otitis media, skin allergies, and viral warts since early childhood, indicating persistent immune system abnormalities. Imaging studies, including pulmonary and sinus CT scans, show significant bronchiectasis accompanied by infections and sinusitis.

Few treatment options are available for antineoplastic-related taste disorders. High body mass index (BMI) and a previous running-related injury (RRI) have been highlighted as two risk factors for sustaining an RRI. However, a critical gap exists in the knowledge of whether runners with both elevated BMI and a previous RRI constitute a particularly vulnerable subgroup in terms of susceptibility to new RRIs. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate if those with high BMI and a concomitant history of running-related problems in the past 3 months were more prone to sustain a new RRI compared with runners with normal BMI and without previous running-related problems.
