Metagenomics and directed evolution technology have brought a revolution in search of novel enzymes from extreme environment and improvement of existing enzymes and tuning them towards certain desired properties. Using advanced tools of molecular biology i.e. next generation sequencing, site directed mutagenesis, fusion protein, surface display, etc. now researchers can engineer enzymes for improved activity, stability, and substrate specificity to meet the industrial demand. Although many enzymatic processes have been developed up to industrial scale, still there is a need to overcome limitations of maintaining activity during the catalytic process. In this article recent developments in enzymes industrial applications and advancements in metabolic engineering approaches to improve enzymes efficacy and production are reviewed.

The emerging field of quantum life science combines principles from quantum physics and biology to study fundamental life processes at the molecular level. Quantum mechanics, which describes the properties of small particles, can help explain how quantum phenomena such as tunnelling, superposition, and entanglement may play a role in biological systems. However, capturing these effects in living systems is a formidable challenge, as it involves dealing with dissipation and decoherence caused by the surrounding environment.

Objective: There has been a call for neuroscientific studies of spiritual experiences due to their global prevalence, significant impact, and importance for understanding the mind-brain problem. Mediumship is a spiritual experience where individuals claim to communicate with or be influenced by deceased persons or non-material entities. We assessed whether mediums possess specific genetic alterations.

Background: LIN28, a highly conserved RNA-binding protein, regulate a wide variety of post-transcriptional cellular processes. The current study aimed to identify genetic variants of five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LIN28B gene (rs221634, rs22163, rs314276, rs9404590, and rs12194974) and their association with Breast cancer.
Method: 220 patients and 230 controls were genotyped by the RFLP assay for Lin28B gene variants.

Background: In this study we explored the association of polymorphisms of glutathione s transferase gene including GSTM1, GSTT1 and GSTP1 with adverse acute normal tissue reactions resulted from radiotherapy in HNC patients. We assessed the association of GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotypes and Ile105Val of exon-5 and Ala114Val of exon-6 of GSTP1 gene polymorphisms with the risk of acute skin toxicity reactions after therapeutic radiotherapy in HNC patients.
Methods: Four hundred HNC patients administered with Intensity modulated radiation therapy were enrolled in this study for the evaluation of radiotherapy associated toxicity reactions.
