Reaction of piperazine with chloroacetylchloride in dry acetone yield compound 1: , which on reaction with hydrazine hydrate yielded compound 2: , which was further reacted with various substituted phenylisothiocyanates in absolute alcohol to afford compounds 3-8: i. e. 2-(carbazolylacetyl)-N-(substitutedphenyl)-hydrazinepiperazinothioamides. Compounds 3-8: on reaction with aqueous NaOH, ethanolic NaOH and conc. HSO afford triazoles 9-14: , oxadiazoles 15-20: and thiadiazoles 21-26: respectively. Twenty four newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity and acute toxicity. The structures of these compounds were established on the basis of analytical and spectral data.

Recently, it has been shown that protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) dysfunction was common in many cancer types and was mediated by various inactivation mechanisms. Although many research studies observed antitumor effect of propolis extracts in various types of cancer, the mechanism of effect are still obscure. In this study, we investigated the effect of propolis on PPP2R1A expression and its relationship with apoptosis in the SW-620 (colorectal cancer), DU-145 and PC-3 (prostate cancer), and MCF-7 (breast cancer) cell lines, with WI-38 (healthy fibroblast) cells serving as the control.

This study explores the use of conductive material in scaling up anaerobic digestion for enhanced biogas production. Focusing on Direct Interspecies Electron Transfer (DIET), the research employs a syntrophic DIET-able consortium formed by Shewanella oneidensis and Methanosarcina barkerii in 3.8-L experiments utilizing reticulated vitreous carbon (RVC) as conductive material.

In this current work, we dedicated efforts to designing and synthesizing new 1,2,3-triazole-analogues (5a-d), (6a-d), and (7a-c) to act as dual VEGFR-2 and telomerase inhibitors with promising apoptotic potential. The synthesized analogues were examined against eleven diverse types of cancer cells and two normal cells to assess their ability to inhibit cell growth (GI%). Obviously, compound 7b showed the best average GI% (75.

Mushrooms, being a source of therapeutically active compounds, are of great interest to researchers due to their historical usage in traditional therapies and the significant role that natural products have played in the development of contemporary medications. Lentinus polychrous is one underutilized mushroom species collected from the laterites of West Bengal, India. Our study aims toward its taxonomic validation, deciphering the secondary metabolic fingerprint, and testing its efficiency in countering many clinical issues, including oxidative stress, growing microbial drug resistance, and cancer.
