The paper presents a method of obtaining composite cellulose fibres (CEL) doped with graphene oxide (GO) and the influence of GO nanoparticles on the structure and properties of the obtained fibres. Composite fibres (GO/CEL) were prepared using wet method from 5% CEL solutions in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate (EMIMAc) containing GO (0; 0.21; 0.50; 0.98; 1.97% ) dispersion in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). The fibres were coagulated in distilled water and methanol. Optical microscopy allowed us to demonstrate a good degree of GO additive dispersion in the CEL matrix. Surface morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), which indicated interactions between the matrix and the additive. Strength tests have shown that GO/CEL fibres are characterised by high values of elongation at break (7.7-19.5%) and tenacity (~133-287 [MPa]). The obtained composite fibres are characterized by good biocidal properties against Gram-negative bacteria (), Gram-positive bacteria (), and fungi , and the resistance to microorganisms depends on the surface zeta potential value and the isoelectric point (IEP) of GO/CEL fibres.

Blood components play a crucial role in maintaining human health and accurately detecting them is essential for medical diagnostics. A cutting-edge sensor utilizing PCF revealed to precisely identify a wide range of blood components with WBCs (white blood cells), RBCs (red blood cells), HB (hemoglobin), platelets, and plasma. A numerical analysis was performed using COMSOL Multiphysics software to assess the capabilities of the sensor.

Background: Colon and rectum cancer (CRC) is a major health burden in China, with notable gender disparities. This study was designed to analyze trends in CRC incidence, prevalence, and mortality from 1990 to 2021 and to project future trends.
Methods: Using data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2021, we examined CRC burden in China, including incidence, prevalence, mortality, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years lived with disability (YLDs), and years of life lost (YLLs).

Amidst the ever-growing interest in high-mass-loading Li battery electrodes, a persistent challenge has been the insufficient continuity of their ion/electron conduction pathways. Here, we propose cellulose elementary fibrils (CEFs) as a class of deagglomerated binder for high-mass-loading electrodes. Derived from natural wood, CEF represents the most fundamental unit of cellulose with nanoscale diameter.

Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) in the peripheral nervous system shape action potentials (APs) and thereby support the detection of sensory stimuli. Most of the nine mammalian VGSC subtypes are expressed in nociceptors, but predominantly, three are linked to several human pain syndromes: while Nav1.7 is suggested to be a (sub-)threshold channel, Nav1.

The superior hypogastric plexus (SHP) contains afferent nociceptive fibers from the pelvic structures, thus the SHP block is employed in the chronic pelvic pain (CPP) treatment in patients who do not respond to conservative treatments. A 60-year-old female patient, who did not respond to conservative treatment, underwent SHP neurolytic block after a successful diagnostic block. An excessive oblique angle approach was applied due to physical restrictions, the needle passed through the intervertebral disc resulting in the contralateral side SHP block, and the procedure was also repeated to the other side SHP.
