Abstract: Local anesthetics as a part of intraarticular therapies (IATs) are widely used for treating knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Whether substitution of liposomal bupivacaine (LB) for lidocaine is safe and effective in reducing incidence of injection-emergent adverse events after IATs remains unclear.
Methods: We recruited outpatients who had a clinical diagnosis of KOA and decided to receive IATs from November 2023 to April 2024.

Wide awake local anaesthesia no tourniquet (WALANT) surgery has gained increasing popularity in recent years for hand surgery fast-tracked by the COVID pandemic. It involves infiltration of lidocaine with adrenaline to the operative region ensuring a good visual field owing to the vasoconstrictive effects of epinephrine. It has numerous advantages over traditional anaesthetic (TA) for flexor tendon repairs including testing of tendon strength on table as well as immediate revision of the repair if needed.

Objectives: Hysterectomy or myomectomy is a common gynaecological procedure that results in moderate to severe acute postoperative pain, which can cause many adverse effects. This study aimed to compare the postoperative analgesic efficacy, opioid consumption, quality of postoperative recovery (QOR) and adverse reactions of intravenous coinjection of lidocaine and dexmedetomidine versus lidocaine or dexmedetomidine alone in gynaecological surgery.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis was performed.
