Background: Loneliness among older adults, is a subjective experience and a public health issue in aging societies. Psychometrically sound and culturally sensitive measures are needed for developing precisely targeted interventions in culturally distinct groups. This study tested the Short-Form UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS-8) among Chinese older adults.

Histones are traditionally recognized for structuring nuclear architecture and regulating gene expression. Recent advances have revealed their roles in inflammation, coagulation, and immune responses, where they act as damage-associated molecular patterns. The mechanisms by which histones induce membrane leakage are not well understood, and certain cells, including endothelial cells and peritoneal macrophages, show resistance to histone-mediated pore formation.

DeePathNet integrates cancer-specific biological pathways using transformer-based deep learning for enhanced cancer analysis. It outperforms existing models in predicting drug responses, cancer types, and subtypes. By enabling pathway-level biomarker discovery, DeePathNet represents a significant advancement in cancer research and could lead to more effective treatments.

Starvation- or stress-induced phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P/PI3P) production at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) subdomains organizes phagophore assembly and autophagosome formation. Coat protein complex II (COPII) vesicles budding from ER exit site (ERES) also contribute to autophagosome formation. Whether any PtdIns3P phosphatase functions at ERES to inhibit macroautophagy/autophagy is unknown.

Homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) is prevalent in cancer, sensitizing tumor cells to poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibition. However, the impact of HRD and related therapies on the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains elusive. Our study generates single-cell gene expression and T cell receptor profiles, along with validatory multimodal datasets from >100 high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) samples, primarily from a phase II clinical trial (NCT04507841).
