Paddy fields are recognized as significant sources of methane (CH) emissions, playing a pivotal role in global climate change. Elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO) concentrations (e[CO]) exert a profound influence on the carbon cycling of paddy fields. Understanding the effects of e[CO] on CH emissions, as well as the underlying microbial processes, is crucial for enhancing carbon sequestration and reducing emissions in paddy fields.

Industrialization-driven surface ozone (O) pollution significantly impairs plant growth. This study evaluates the effectiveness of exogenous protectants [3 mg L⁻ abscisic acid (ABA), 400 mg L⁻ ethylenediurea (EDU), and 80 mg L⁻ spermidine (Spd)] on Trifolium repens subjected to O stress in open-top chambers, focusing on plant growth and dynamics of culturable endophytic fungal communities. Results indicate that O exposure adversely affects photosynthesis, reducing root biomass and altering root structure, which further impacts the ability of plant to absorb essential nutrients such as potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), and zinc (Zn).

Short-term precipitation forecasting is essential for agriculture, transportation, urban management, and tourism. The radar echo extrapolation method is widely used in precipitation forecasting. To address issues like forecast degradation, insufficient capture of spatiotemporal dependencies, and low accuracy in radar echo extrapolation, we propose a new model: MS-DD3D-RSTN.

Zooplankton are critical indicators of pressures impacting freshwater ecosystems. We analyzed the response of zooplankton communities across different sub-catchment types-headwaters, natural, urban, urban-agricultural, and agricultural-within the Łyna river-lake system in Northern Poland. Using taxonomic groups and functional traits (body size, feeding strategies), we applied Partial Least Squares Regression (PLS-R) to elucidate the relationships between environmental conditions, land use, and zooplankton metacommunity structure.
