The lateral branch of the superficial radial nerve (SRN) may undergo a neuropraxic stretch injury following radial collateral ligament (RCL) injury to the thumb metacarpophalangeal joint. This case series presents seven athletes who sustained a previously undescribed injury pattern combining dysfunction of the lateral branch of the SRN associated with RCL injury. Successful stabilization of the joint as well as relief of pain was obtained with surgical repair of the RCL, neurolysis and wrapping of the nerve with a tissue engineered allograft product, and, when necessary, excision of a post-traumatic osteophyte. Diagnostic workup along with surgical treatment is presented. Additionally, cadaveric dissections confirmed the course of this nerve, proximity to surrounding structures, and its innervation of the MP capsule. Background: The fluorescent dye indocyanine green (ICG) has been used to identify anatomical structures intraoperatively in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using ICG to assess graft patency and territorial distribution of myocardial reperfusion during CABG.

Methods: Porcine arrested hearts (n = 18) were used to evaluate territorial distribution of native coronary arteries and of a coronary bypass constructed with porcine saphenous vein graft (SVG) using ICG.

How to correct QT interval after cardiac resynchronisation therapy.

J Electrocardiol

January 2025

Victorian Heart Institute, Monash University, Clayton, VIC, Australia; Victorian Heart Hospital, Clayton, VIC, Australia. Electronic address:

Introduction: This study evaluates various formulae used to correct the QT interval in patients with wide QRS complexes to calculate corrected QT (QTc) following Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy (CRT).

Methods: We included patients with severe heart failure and left bundle branch block, presenting with a QRS duration of at least 120 milliseconds, who underwent successful CRT implantation. Patients were excluded if they had non-lateral left ventricular lead placement, metabolic disorders, atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardia, or high-degree atrioventricular block prior to implantation.

The ultrastructural organization of the nuclei of the tegmental region in juvenile chum salmon () was examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The dorsal tegmental nuclei (DTN), the nucleus of (NFLM), and the nucleus of the oculomotor nerve (NIII) were studied. The ultrastructural examination provided detailed ultrastructural characteristics of neurons forming the tegmental nuclei and showed neuro-glial relationships in them.
